In the wake of Nucky Thompson's arrest, Atlantic City's underground economy is suddenly up for grabs. With such a powerful figure on the sidelines, a system that was once consolidated and orderly has devolved into chaos. And for 'Boardwalk Empire's' gangster population, that chaos equals opportunity.
To keep track of the deals, deception and death, AOL TV is maintaining the 'Boardwalk Empire' gangster index, a guide to who's up and who's down among HBO's organized criminals. boardwalk empire dvd

Stock down: Nucky Thompson. Atlantic City's Treasurer/Prohibition kingpin is increasingly isolated. The Coast Guard seized his latest shipment of booze, Chicago's taken its business elsewhere and the Attorney General won't be able to fix his election fraud problem. That said, Nucky regained a few points this week by tossing the Commodore's lobster on the floor and calling out him and Jimmy for their betrayal.
Stock up: Al Capone. He's making moves in Chicago by "killing" the competition, and his 20% cut of the proceeds of Johnny Torio's rackets gave him enough scratch to buy a new house and relocate his brothers from New York to join him.
Stock up: Jimmy Darmody. He met the governor and baffled his friend Capone by using the phrase "political coup." He's got the aggression of a WWI veteran and the education of a Princeton man. Still, his betrayal of Nucky is weighing heavily on his conscience.
Stock up: Owen Sleater. One of the few allies Nucky has in his corner right now. Sleater makes problems disappear and "people stop." He also has a mean head-butt, and the brains to steer clear of a shoot-out with Richard Harrow.
